9 Years Already?!?!?

Happy Birthday to my little man. I can't believe it has been 9 years already. Don't blink!!!

Since it is my son's birthday and birthdays mean cake, I got up at 4:30 this morning to run. I was greeted by the return of December weather. Cold and wet. No problems, I had my cold gear and stayed nice and toasty. I knocked out 10 miles at just under a 10:00/mile pace.
It was my first totally alone run in the dark on the back country roads in quite some time. I was jumpy. It was PITCH. BLACK. No moon, no stars. I jumped at every sound. I was sure the coyotes were going to come eat me and no one would know where to look for the remains. But alas, I made it home safe and sound. And burned enough calories that I didn't feel too guilty stopping by Starbucks on the way to work. Guess I will skip the cake after all.

Another Sagatarian birthday! :)

Congrats on the 10 miler this am.
Please tell me that you run with pepper spray. :)

What's your run schedule for Birmingham because I know you'll do it? ha!

Ah, you must drink lattes. If you drink drip instead, you don't have to worry about calories. Yeah, I know. Drip is for savages. Call me a savage then.

Hope you had a BIG party at your house as your son celebrates his last year as a single digit.

Great job on the run in the dark!

Wow! Don't they grow up SO fast. It's so scary because my oldest will be MIDDLE SCHOOL next year. YIKES!

Happy B-day to the little guy. LEGOS! how cool. Oh to be a kid again.

Don't blink for sure. My sons are all (almost) grown up already. Time does fly.

Cool, 9 years old is a fun age. I'm still in my teens...in my mind.

Running scared, a great way to get fast, but please be careful. I've had more problems from 2-legged beasts while running alone than 4-legged ones.

Happy birthday to your son!
